Google CEO Sundar Pichai touted the tech giant's AI transformation and the rise of "vibe coding" in recent interviews, declaring that his company has moved past the preparation phase and entered full implementation mode with artificial intelligence.
In conversations with Logan Kilpatrick from Google's AI Studio team on November 26, Pichai revealed that more than 25% of Google's new code is now written by AI. He praised the emerging trend of vibe coding—which allows non-technical workers to build apps using natural language prompts to AI platforms—saying it has made software development "so much more enjoyable".
The timing of Pichai's interviews coincided with a remarkable rally in Alphabet's stock, which has surged nearly 70% this year. The company's market capitalization reached approximately $3.86 trillion as of November 28, positioning it as the world's third most valuable company, trailing only Nvidia and Apple. The surge followed the November 18 launch of Gemini 3, Google's latest AI model, which Pichai described as marking a crucial inflection point.
